What is Pilates?

Pilates is a form of low impact exercise, which targets the deep postural muscles, building strength from the inside out and helping to regain good posture naturally.

​

The Pilates method develops strength, balance, flexibility, posture, control and good breathing technique, all vitally important for great horse riders. The exercises are designed to improve your position and how you move in your everyday life. 

​

Pilates emphasises the connection between physical and mental health and seeks to connect the mind and body to relieve unwanted stress and tension.

What is Biomechanics?

Put simply, biomechanics is the science behind movement. It looks at how we move and why. 

 

Move More Move Well utilises an evidence based system to assess our movement patterns and helps improve them, thus reducing risk and optimising performance.

 

Our simple movement techniques are easy to incorporate into your busy daily schedule, and yet will rapidly improve your movement ability and quality of life.

About me

As a movement enthusiast, I have been studying the way people move for many years.

 

I trained through Active IQ to obtain my Level 3 Matwork Pilates qualifications. Since then I have completed additional CPD in Pre and Post Natal Pilates, small equipment, kids and teens Pilates, chair based Pilates and high intensity Pilates.

 

For horse riders, I hold the British Horse Society Level 3 Coach in Complete Horsemanship

 

Additionally, I am a Level 4 Biomechanics Coach, with specialist training in Golf Biomechanics.
